RE-INSULATED PIPES AND FITTINGS

APPLICATION underground excavations of mines extracting non-flammable minerals (e.g. copper, zinc and lead ores, salt), surface mining plants, surface installations and other industrial plants.

RANGE from DN16 to DN500 mm pressure PN 6.3 – PN 40

PE-PU-PE pipe consists of two polyethylene pipes: outer – casing, PE-NP-AS type, and inner – conduit, PE-AS type, and insulating, flame-retardant polyurethane foam filling the space between them. For the production of pre-insulated pipes, PE-AS line pipes with diameters from DN16 to DN500 mm are used.

CONSTRUCTION

PE-PU-PE pipe consists of two polyethylene pipes: outer – casing, PE-NP-AS type, and inner – conduit, PE-AS type, and insulating, flame-retardant polyurethane foam filling the space between them. For the production of pre-insulated pipes, PE-AS line pipes with diameters from DN16 to DN500 mm are used,

APPLICATIONS

  • water
  • water with a suspension of solids and mineral compounds present in mine waters
  • brine
  • other water solutions used in mining air-conditioning and technological installations
  • chemically aggressive liquids (to which polyethylene is resistant)

APPLICATION PARAMETERS:

  • pressure from PN 6.3 to PN 40
  • temperature from -25˚C to + 45˚C

  • Victaulic Style 995, 905 couplings
  • compression fittings
  • twisted fittings
  • PE / steel transitions
  • PE-AS electrofusion fittings

ADVANTAGES OF PRE-INSULATED PE-PU-PE PIPES:

  • service life greater than that of steel pipes
  • very good insulation – low thermal conductivity
  • full insulation tightness, no thermal bridges at the joints
  • no overgrowing of the pipes with sediment from the inside – hydraulic parameters unchanged over time
  • high surface smoothness reducing flow resistance (up to 20% lower than in steel pipes)
  • no corrosion of external and internal surfaces
  • high abrasion resistance under the action of liquids containing solid suspensions
  • high chemical resistance to most substances present in the transported media
  • the possibility of using various techniques of connecting pipes

IMPORTANT

The PE-PU-PE pipe can be made with the use of an outer jacket made of PERC (scratch-resistant), PERT (high-temperature resistant) material.
