PE-NP-AS

ARMORED POLYETHYLENE PIPES AND FITTINGS

MATERIAL antistatic polyethylene, flame retardant

APPLICATION in rooms and underground workings classified as “a”, “b”, “c” of methane explosion hazard and “A” or “B” class of coal dust explosion hazard.

RANGE DN32 mm – DN400 mm (pressure PN 6 – PN 40)

PE-NP-AS armored polyethylene pipes, approved for use in rooms and underground workings classified as “a”, “b”, “c” methane explosion hazard and “A” or “B” class of coal dust explosion hazard.

CONSTRUCTION

The PE-NP-AS polyethylene armored pipe consists of:

  • internal, line pipe (pressure), with an antistatic layer
  • an outer pipe (“protective armor”) made of flame-retardant and antistatic polyethylene, tightly fitted over the service pipe.

TECHNICAL PARAMETERS

  • standard range of line pipe diameters from DN32 to DN400 mm,
  • standard nominal pressure PN 6 – PN 25
  • standard length L = 6m

At the customer’s individual request, it is possible to make sections of different lengths, dimensions, and pressure, as well as segment fittings, e.g. elbows, tees as a supplement to the entire installation.

THE LISTED MEDIUM CAN BE TRANSPORTED:

  • water
  • water with a suspension of solids and mineral compounds present in mine waters
  • brine
  • non-flammable liquids
  • aggressive liquids
  • chemically compressed air in shafts and underground workings of mines
  • extracting non-flammable minerals (e.g. copper, salt, sand)

PIPE JOINING METHODS

  • Victaulic System couplings
  • flange connections
  • butt welding of the fitting
  • screw clamps
  • PE / steel transitions
  • flange connector

ADVANTAGES OF PE-NP-AS PIPES

  • high resistance to crack propagation as a result of external damage,
  • higher impact resistance compared to GRP, PVC, PP
  • high durability of the pipeline (several times higher than that of steel pipes) – especially visible in workings with unfavorable microclimate,
  • possibility of cutting to the desired length at the place of installation,
  • the possibility of building a hydrant anywhere,
  • possibility of immediate clamping of pipes with a screw clamp,
  • simple installation and servicing of the pipeline (4 or 2 bolts) using Victaulic 995 or 905 couplings,
  • high flexibility, the possibility of pipeline correction without the need to use elbows or wedges while maintaining specific bending radii,
  • approx. 50% increase in work efficiency in assembly and disassembly compared to flanged pipes,
  • lighter than steel pipelines, easier transport,
  • high abrasion resistance,
  • low coefficient of absolute internal roughness – 20% reduction in flow losses,
  • complete absence of corrosion of polyethylene pipes,
  • significantly reducing the phenomenon of internal fouling, resistance to impact and brittle cracks, odorless – odorless (they do not emit odors like e.g. resins)
  • possibility of multiple use of all elements,
  • Can be connected to other installed pipelines with Victaulic flange or groove belts.
